2025 Kia EV6: Premium Updates Elevate Award-Winning Electric Crossover

The Los Angeles Auto Show set the stage last month for the debut of the refreshed 2025 Kia EV6, showcasing significant enhancements to the model that captured the 2023 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year award. This mid-cycle refresh brings sophisticated design updates, enhanced technology, and improved performance capabilities that further cement the EV6's position in the premium electric vehicle segment.

Refined Exterior Design

The 2025 EV6 embraces Kia's evolving design language with subtle yet impactful updates. The front fascia now features Kia's signature Star Map lighting, creating distinctive wing-like graphics in the headlights and DRLs that enhance the vehicle's presence. New character lines extend across the hood to the air intake, while the rear showcases three-dimensional Star Map taillights and a redesigned bumper with a wing-type shape. The subtle 0.6-inch increase in overall length contributes to a more athletic stance, complemented by fresh wheel designs ranging from 19 to 21 inches.

Interior Evolution and Technology

Inside, the EV6's cabin receives a comprehensive update focused on premium touches and advanced technology. The horizontal design theme creates an open, sophisticated atmosphere, anchored by a standard curved display that seamlessly integrates dual 12.3-inch screens. Taking inspiration from the flagship EV9, new elements include Star Map lighting accents, a D-shaped steering wheel, and a redesigned center console with refined finishes. The next-generation Connected Car Navigation Cockpit system introduces over-the-air update capability, while the new Digital Key 2.0 system offers convenient smartphone integration and key-sharing features.

Enhanced Performance and Range

Performance sees notable improvements across the lineup. A new standard 63.0 kWh battery powers the base model, while the available 84.0 kWh battery delivers an impressive targeted range of 513 kilometres in rear-wheel-drive configurations. The performance-focused GT model now produces an exhilarating 641 horsepower in GT mode, up significantly from its predecessor. Practical improvements include enhanced sound insulation, improved steering response, and an increased towing capacity of 2,700 pounds for long-range models.
